- My Name is Danielle but everbody calls me Dani,I've been riding horses since i was 7yrs old . I ride at urbana riding club it's the best stable ever.The people there are really nice especially my instructor grace and the barn owner nikki, but the horses are the best. i ride a appy gelding named saint he's great i used to ride a thourghbred gelding named solo and sometimes i ride a fjordmix breed named sparta but my friend maria rides him more often(hes a litlle green), i ride in intermediate C most of my jumps are in the 2,6 range hoping to move up in classes. i love horses i think there the best companions ever unfortunately i dont have a horse....(.i hope i get one soon though) also horse are not the only animal i love, i love all animal I'm hoping to be a veternarian someday and thats pretty much sum's me up.

DREAM HORSE :)
Ok well im writting this blog because my friend lorraine inspired me with it. theres this horse, hes a dream i absoutley love his name is prince james aka pj hes 16.1 hh and 10yrs old and hes so cute and a great jumper and i love to jump. i asked my parents and my mom said she would look into it but the price was high but not extremley high but still high and my dad well jeeesssshh....he thought it was a joke, like dont get me wrong he likes horses and he loves me but he gave me this look like "… Continue

- Yep. I liked Grace's lessons they were fun and really cool and I learned a lot from her but Niqui is just...I don't know. I think you would have to see and hear her teach. I've already learned a lot of new things from her! And watching everybody else is a lot of fun.

- Cool. I got a camera for christmas. It was Vanessa's old one but it is in great shape. I used to take pictures on my phone which was phone but Lexi and Vanessa told me that I needed a real one! Haha!

Claire said… - it was amazing! i rode savannah and cantered && jumped bareback for the first time!! :D we did timed obstacle courses it was so hard we had to dismount then get back on and savannah kept moving aorud and i fell on my butt when i was trying to get back on lol!!

- She found Hammer and my mom fell in love with him too. Brooke got him for christmas present! Surprise! Lol. And Zuri.........Zuri was given to Brooke and Brooke paid $390 for him. And is paying everything for him now. Having not an easy keeper is ALOT of money!:/

- I just read your comment on Smidget! I will hurt you the next time I see you!!!!!!!! Jk, jk. Well I'm in Niqui's lesson's now and I'm learning alot more. Grace has alot of people in her lessons and she needs to tell them all something too. Niqui sometimes stays on you until you do it right and then she will go on to the other people!!! Dani, try doing the up, up, down thing when your posting. It helps alot because it really get's you to balance and for you not to come down on your horse's back hard.

As for being able to tell what lead your on without looking, it's really a matter of natural feel. If you're going off the left rein, and your horse gets onto the right lead, you should be able to feel how off balance you are, and your horse will be rocking towards the outside. When you get it onto the correct lead (the left one), you'll feel the horse's rocking angling to the inside. Same thing if you're going off the right rein. The correct lead would be the right one. And you'll feel the horse's rocking to the inside.
There really is no easy way to explain it. It takes a lot of time and practice to be able fully understand.
It took me a while, but I know right away what diagonal I'm on without looking. Same thing with the leads. I can tell what lead they're going to land on after a jump.
You'll get there. It just takes practice.
