oh wow too many. one of the wranglers at my barn wears jeans that are like 2 sizes too small and we sprayed him so he was completly soaked and needed keys outta his pocket. oh and slumber partys at the barn haha

I'm Abriana.
If you couldn't already tell, I love to ride horses. And all that implies ;]

About Me:
I've been riding for about 4 1/2 years now. It is my passion and I have met some pretty amazing people and animals through the sport. I couldn't ask for a better instructor and friends and the horses? Well, they're pretty dang amazing.

Background Information:
Piper is an amazing little pony. She is owned by my instructor and she has loads of talent. She is a beautiful mover and she has a great attitude. Sadly, she was abused before being purchased by my instructor so that sometimes shows but with lots of patience, the overall improvement is obvious. I hope to continue working with her for a long time because I have a good feeling about this one.

Justine/Smokey:
Here's a story for you: Recently, my friends and I got permission from our barn owners to work with the two donkeys at the farm. We are hoping to train them to drive (Smokey) and possibly ride (Justine) Justine is doing well as she has already accepted the saddle, bridle, and rider.

Tons Of Rides: Official Donkey Trainers: Updates

I don't even remember half of the dates. I've been working on the same things. Slowing her down, relaxing, keeping my shoulders back, giving the barrel, ect..
8/22/09: 4H Disricts: Well we made it to Disricts in showmanship and hus ponies. We didnt place at all but it was only her 3rd show so I'm not worried about it. We'll make it to States next year ;)

Today and Yesterdays Rides

Yesterday: We relaxed so I rode bareback w/t and went on a mini trail ride with Lizzy and Otis.
Today: We went on a trail ride. It was awesome. I got to gallop which was really fun =] Piper was really good. Then I longed and rode Diamond w/t. I would go into more detail but I gtg.

4-H Round Up Horse Show (7/25/09)

Today was an awesome show day! It went sooo much better than I was expecting it to. Piper behaved extremely well in all of our classes. Our first class was Jr Grooming and Showmanship. Piper took the pattern really well and even stood in a calm and relaxed manner for the judge to inspect us. We placed 2nd. After that class I went and tacked up to warm up. Lotsa Rides

Well I havent blogged in forever because I havent had access to a computer. So heres a basic summary: I have been working a lot more on being relaxed with Piper and slowing her down. At home we've been jumping more which has been doing great. I have done some cross rails, gymnastics, and a little bit of 2 ft work. We took the horses to Grange last week and I even got her up to 2'3! =) She has also been much much slower at the canter which is a plus. I fell off 2 days ago jumping which hurt haha.… Continue

7/13/09 Rides

Today I startedout my longing Piper w/t/c. While riding I did w/t and worked on softening her jaw and regulating pace. Then we all switched horses so I rode Otis and Pistol and did w/t on them. When I got back on Piper I did some cantering. She was really good. It was a good day =]
